Janet Penfield

Jan Penfield joined the Our Lady Queen of Heaven School faculty in the fall of 2016 as a 5th grade ELA teacher, and moved to 7th and 8th grade Social Studies in the fall of 2017.  She began her career as an attorney in Brooklyn, New York before “seeing the light” and becoming a teacher in 2011.  She spent the first five years of her teaching career at a Catholic school in Brooklyn, New York, before coming back to her hometown of Lake Charles and joining the Our Lady Queen of Heaven School faculty. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Dallas in History, a Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from McNeese State University. She is married to Jay Penfield and has two children, Andrew and Savannah, who attend Our Lady Queen of Heaven School.  She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
