Our goals as a Center are to build a classroom community, make our children feel safe and loved, foster creativity, and to develop their early learning skills. During the first months of school, teachers will focus on creating a consistent routine, promote shared learning experiences, and build positive relationships. This daily routine will include a balance of child-initiated and teacher-directed activities as well as small and large group experiences where children learn how to make choices within classroom learning centers.
Curriculum
The carefully selected materials and activities provide opportunities for learning in the areas of language, literacy, math, science, social studies, fine/gross motor skills, and the arts with the intent on making our children Pre-K ready.
Our chosen Tier I curriculum, Frogstreet, offers a varied structure of lessons geared towards our infant, toddler, and early Pre-K classrooms. The curriculum provides comprehensive, integrated, thematic activities to promote a child’s social emotional and intellectual growth. These activities are further encouraged in our classroom centers which include art, music, library, writing, dramatic play, blocks, and STEM. Children are encouraged to use a variety of manipulatives to engage and enrich their learning experience.
Classroom
Classroom instructional “circle” time include literacy and letter learning activities, math games, science experiences, and art projects. Teachers read to the children, tell stories, use puppets, and sing songs. Teachers also use that time with the whole group to build the classroom community and a feeling of togetherness. Children are encouraged to ask questions and participate in group discussions to help foster early critical thinking and analyzing skills.
Outdoor Play
Outdoor play is an important part of each day, children are offered different and interesting activities to promote their gross motor development to complete an overall and well balanced education.
Camera Access
All of the ECC classrooms are set-up with live view cameras. Once your child is enrolled and attending the center, you will receive log-in credentials to access the cameras in your child’s classroom.
