Brenda Mayo Foshee was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana and except for the two and one half years spent supporting her husband, Andrew, in the PhD. Program at LSU, Brenda has always lived here.  Brenda graduated from McNeese State University in 1975 with a B.A. in History with an Art Minor. She taught Art for 10 years at First Methodist Elementary School, 4 years at Immaculate Conception Catholic School, and one and one half years at Holy Family Catholic School.  Brenda Foshee joined the Our Lady Queen of Heaven staff as an Art Teacher in the fall of 1998.  In 2020 she retired from teaching Art and became the part time Library Assistant.  The only thing she likes as much as teaching Art to children is reading books to children. Brenda’s  husband, Economics Professor at McNeese State University for 35 years, passed away in 2010.  She has three very talented children, Jan (7th and 8th Grade History teacher here at OLQH), Jennie (a Librarian), and John (works in the Starks Museum in Orange, Tx).  She is Nana to three beautiful grandchildren, Andrew and Savannah who attend Our Lady Queen of Heaven, and Ben who attends St. Cecilia’s in Houston. Brenda’s favorite things to do are drawing/painting, reading, and mostly Quilting, which is Art with fabric.
