Learning and Living the Good News: Fostering Academic Success for All Students

Principal's Message

A Message From Ms. Wallwork

Welcome to Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic School!

“Learning and Living the Good News: The Legacy Continues” is the vision of OLQH. This year we are guided by our theme, “Let the word of Christ, in all its richness, find a home in you.” As we go through this school year, let us grow together as a family, allowing Christ to find a home in each of us - and seeing the work of Christ in each other. We are blessed to offer our students a strong academic foundation here at OLQHS, but most importantly, we are blessed to be able to educate them within a community of faith, fostering their spiritual growth.

There’s no more important gift you can give your child or yourself than a Catholic education.  Catholic school students are prepared for life, for living independently and successfully in a rapidly-changing world.  The values children learn will last a lifetime and will prepare them to live their dreams and fulfill a world of potential.

Why do parents send their children to Catholic schools?  What expectations do they have for the education of their children?  Researchers from the University of Dayton asked parents of Catholic schools these two very important questions.

These were the top five responses:

   1. Morality and values are taught in Catholic schools.

   2. A Christian atmosphere is present.

   3. Discipline that is administered is effective.

   4. Academic excellence was expected.

   5. Catholic schools have competent teachers.

It is important to recognize that these characteristics of Catholic education are most often cited because parents value these choices the most in the education of their children.

Thank you for choosing OLQHS and giving your child the gift of a Catholic education. It is a gift your child will continue to unwrap for a lifetime!

May the Lord continue to guide OLQH in its mission,

JoAnn Wallwork
