Principal's Message

A Message from the Principal

Welcome to Our Lady Queen of Heaven School!

This spring at the NCEA Convention and Expo, His Eminence Cardinal Giuseppe Versaldi, Prefect for the Congregation for Catholic Education to the Vatican, echoed the message of Pope Francis through the Evangelii Gaudium, “For us to return to the Gospel.”  Cardinal Versaldi encouraged a universal project of evangelization for Catholic schools, “This should be a project of love delivered honestly to help our young people enjoy a joyous encounter with Christ who liberates us from sin, sorrow, emptiness and loneliness because with Christ joy is constantly born anew.”  This call back to the Gospel is the backbone of our mission in catholic schools and is central to our efforts at Our Lady Queen of Heaven School.

I’m pleased to begin tenure serving the students and families of OLQHS, and I’m equally excited to join a dedicated group of teachers and staff members who provide a quality and dynamic faith based education, focused on addressing the social and emotional needs and positively influencing the spiritual condition of all students in the school.  We will work hard to continue the tradition of quality and excellence with a focus on growing the opportunities we present to our students, and I invite our community to join us in this transformational ministry.  As we move forward, it will be critical that different models, approaches and movements exist in our ministry to our youth, to identify a shared commitment among all stake holders.

Our theme for the school year will be, “Let Your Light Shine.”  As we heed the call of Pope Francis, we return to the Gospel to follow the model of Christ Jesus, to let the light of his image emerge in all of us.  I pray that all of our students have a successful school year, experiencing growth in mind, body and spirit.
